Michael Jackson’s Doctors Won’t Be Charged
Seven of the doctors and one nurse that treated pop sensation Michael Jackson prior to his death are free of any charges of wrongdoing. An eighth unnamed doctor may be in trouble for prescribing drugs to an alias of Jackson, but the California Medical board failed to comment. The doctors were all part of an investigation and there was not enough evidence found to prosecute any of the seven.
Jackson’s now infamous personal doctor Conrad Murray is facing charges of felony involuntary manslaughter and has pled not guilty. He has been accused of causing the singer’s untimely death with a cocktail of sedatives combined with an anesthetic. Murray was not included in the investigation.
During the investigation into Jackson’s death, police found a long list of medications at his home. They also found that he was receiving some of these medications under different names.
LA Police had asked the State and Federal investigators to step in and take a look at how the doctors were dishing out medicine to the pop star. They have since ended the investigation. The DEA has also ended its investigation into Jackson’s doctors.
The attorney for Jackson’s father has expressed his disappointment. He claims that the misuse of medications to such an extreme degree should be brought into the public eye.
During the investigation a database was utilized that tracks doctors who prescribe controlled substances and who the patients are.
